Berserk: An announcement we didn't see coming and players are going crazy

Since the sudden passing of its mangaka almost four years ago, Berserk has been more discreet than ever. Despite everything, the manga continues to be published at an irregular pace under the watchful eye of Kouji Mori, a childhood friend of the late author and the only person to whom he had entrusted the ending. The wait between each chapter is long, sometimes very long. Readers are therefore forced to be patient without ever having anything else to sink their teeth into besides the manga. The number of Berserk anime and films can be counted on the fingers of one hand, and aside from a fan-made series, there is officially nothing on the horizon. And since the license has never been accustomed to collaborations, we didn't expect to see it land in a game that suits it perfectly.

Berserk will be invited to Diablo 4

It's a fact, Kentarō Miura's manga has inspired many works, even some video games like Dark Souls. Its legacy will continue in one way or another, but at a time when One Piece, Dragon Ball, and Naruto are all collaborating on one another, Berserk seemed far from that. Until the day when, without warning, a first crossover was revealed. On April 17, 2025, the official Diablo 4 account announced the arrival of a collaboration with the manga, at a date that has yet to be determined. Blizzard didn't do things by halves and came up with a classy animated cinematic to mark the occasion. Without getting too involved, we can already assume that the Barbarian will have the right to... a skin with Guts' iconic outfit and The Dragonslayer, his imposing sword.

Since the video was also published on the official Diablo Immortal account, the mobile game should also benefit from this crossover. While details are scarce for now, we can expect Other armor for the different classes of Diablo 4 inspired by the different characters. Griffith, Casca, The Skeleton Knight or even the infamous Nosferatu Zodd seem like obvious choices. Given the scale of this collaboration, we can also hope for at least one event around Berserk. Blizzard should give new details in the coming days and it goes without saying that fans are impatient for this excellent surprise that came out of nowhere. Fans of the manga, those of Diablo and those who love both clearly do not hide their overflowing enthusiasm. So, just a little more patience...
