The new trailer for Fantastic Four: Beginning has just been released. Exciting new footage gives us new insights into the upcoming Marvel film. Here are the 8 things to remember from this new trailer.
8) The Fantastic Four are already well established
As in the previous adaptations of Tim Story and Josh Trank, the Fantastic Four will obtain their powers during a trip into space. But judging by the trailer, this journey should barely be touched upon (the time to see Ebon Moss-Bachrachen in the flesh). It seems that the background of the Fantastic Four is quickly touched upon, just to contextualize the story. Unlike the previous films in the franchise, it seems here that the Fantastic Four are already famous and dubbed in their universe. True celebrities, they also seem to be the only superheroes in their universe and the only protectors of the Earth.
7) Shalla-Bal
This new trailer also gives the very first look at The Silver Surfer. Except this time, it's not the famous Norrin Radd, but another version of the character. Here, Galactus's herald is Shalla-Bal. The latter, created in 1968 by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, is also from zenn-La and was Norrin Radd's lover. In the comics, Shalla-Bal was never a Silver Surfer (except in one What If...? comic). In the comics, Shalla-Bal is the empress of the planet Zenn-La. While she possesses only a fraction of Norrin Radd's powers, she is trapped for years in the body of a Latverian inhabitant by Mephisto. She even marries Dr. Doom. It is Silver Surfer who will discover the deception and free his former love interest in 1982. Shalla-Bal has an extraordinarily long lifespan and has existed for centuries. As she takes up the torch of the Silver Surfer in Fantastic Four: Beginnings, she will be played by actress Julia Garner.
6) Sue Storm is pregnant
We already knew this for a while, but the latest trailer for Fantastic Four: Beginnings confirms the information. Sue Storm will indeed be pregnant by Franklin Richards. Logically, this will be an important element of the film's plot, and it will be a central dramatic element of the story.
5) The Destruction of Earth
Clearly, Earth will not survive the attack of Galactus. This implies that The Fantastic Four will have to flee into space or the multiverse. Which would be a starting point for their incursion into Earth-616.
4) The Fanstatic Car
These new images also give a glimpse of the famous Fantastic Car, the vehicle of the Fantastic Four. The car is quite far from the design of the vehicle in the comics. More neutral, it also does not resemble the Fantastic Car presented in Deadpool & Wolverine.
3) Galactus
Galactus shows himself a little more in these new images. Apparently, according to the trailer for Fantastic Four: Rise of the Sky, Galactus is interested in Earth because of Reed Richards. The latter reveals that it was because he stretched the limits of known space that Galactus and Shalla-Bal discovered Earth. Now the question remains which universe Galactus comes from. Does he have the ability to travel throughout the multiverse? Or will he be a character specific to the Fantastic Four universe? It's hard to say at the moment. But we really hope to see Galactus again in the next two Avengers
2) Subterranea
Will Fantastic Four: First Steps travel to Subterranea? It's hard to say, but it's quite likely. In one shot of this new trailer, we can see New Yorkers taking refuge underground. It could be that these makeshift bunkers are located in Subterranea, the kingdom of the Mole Man. Are we heading towards an appearance of the Mole Man? Possible.
1) Fantastic Four in action
This new trailer also gives a first real look at the powers of the Fantastic Four. The Thing seems very close to his comic book version. As for the powers of the other three characters, they have again been shown sparingly. One thing is certain, the aesthetic is absolutely superb.
