Nintendo has announced a few game titles that will be released alongside the Switch 2. Unsurprisingly, we find a flagship license with Mario Kart World, but with several new features.
The Switch 2 presentation couldn't ignore the games that will accompany the new console upon its release. However, the manufacturer was careful not to say too much, as it plans a total of 7 hours of streaming dedicated to the games on its new platform. We were still treated to a few images to keep us waiting. Let's just say it right away: there were no surprises, without it being negative. After all, no one is going to spit on a new Zelda or a new Mario right?

The mustachioed plumber will also be there with 23 other characters for frantic races with Mario Kart World. The game will be released at the same time as the Switch 2 on June 5, 2025 and will be exclusive to the console. We've known about its official existence for a few months, Nintendo had given us of some images of the racing game during the first preview of the machine last January. We will therefore have to wait more than 10 years after the release of the last opus before seeing a new one.

The company has had time to think of ideas to renew the formula, and there are some. First, you can go off-track, that is, leave the normal route to discover others. You will also be able to look for them without the pressure of the timer in the new Ride mode. The opportunity to take screenshots is provided by the Photo mode.
Another mode, called Survival, will require you to perform well on all the game's circuits without stopping. Then, the conditions on the circuits will change depending on the real-life weather and the time you're playing. Finally, note that between each stage of a cup, which includes 4 circuits, you will not have to let go of the controller since the connection between them will be a playable part.
During the demonstration video, we were also able to see new “power ups” changing the costume of our driver. We will learn more about Mario Kart World during a stream that will be partly dedicated to it on April 17, 2025 at 3 p.m.
