We told you about our 4 biggest disappointments from the Nintendo Direct regarding the Switch 2, and unfortunately, it's not over yet... Indeed, Internet users have discovered that one aspect of the console will be much less efficient than the old version. A step backward that doesn't go down well!
The Switch 2, a disappointing Nintendo console?
Eagerly awaited by Switch fans around the world, the Switch 2 unveiled during the Live is not the revolutionary console that players imagined. Already, the colossal price, of more than €469.99 alone and €509.99 with Mario Kart World, has acted as a cold shower for many consumers. In a climate of inflation, where major expenses are thought twice, this significant sum could dissuade more than one Nintendo fan from giving in to the lure of the new Switch. While Internet users were already pointing out the console's lack of improvements compared to the Steam Deck, the PlayStation 5, and the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, here is that a new problem appears...
This Nintendo Direct was cool and full of promise

The Switch 2 looks really cool and I'm very curious to see what it will be like
But in hindsight
The prices are outrageous
I want to understand with the technology etc... but it's more expensive than a ps5! pic.twitter.com/kxzPQfli6A
The Switch 2, a console that drains quickly
And for good reason: the battery life ranges from 2 to 6.5 hours, half that of the Switch. However, remember that the very first version of the original Switch only offered 2.5 to 6.5 hours of battery life. Later versions of the Switch have been equipped with a more powerful battery for a battery life of 4.5 to 9 hours. The Switch 2's battery life is therefore a step down from the current Switch system. The console's resolution may be one explanation, as it can run at up to 120 frames per second at 1080p in handheld mode. For gamers who use their console on long train or plane journeys, this is a big blow, especially considering that the recharge time is still around three hours.
A disappointment for many: what do you think?
