Wi-Fi 7 is finally arriving in the Orange catalog, and it's far from the only new feature. The historic operator is unveiling a new Livebox S for its entry-level/mid-range offering and is offering increased speeds on several plans, including Livebox Up. The mid-tier subscription goes from 2 Gbps to 8 Gbps for downloads and from 800 Mbps to 8 Gbps for uploads, an impressive increase in speed. The offer is catching up with the Livebox Max, which maintains a fiber speed of up to 8 Gb/s symmetrical.
The question now arises: should you choose the more affordable Livebox Up offer or the Livebox Max Fiber?
Summary
If you are simply looking for an ultra-fast connection at a lower cost, the Livebox Up is now an excellent choice. On the other hand, if you use several streaming services and/or need additional services (security, additional repeaters, mobile connection), the Livebox Max justifies its additional cost of €6 per month.
I choose Livebox Up Fibre if:
€39.99/month for 12 months then €51.99/month (12-month commitment)

I want an ultra-fast connection
The Orange network has a very good reputation and is still at the top of the Arcep fiber quality ranking. A major advantage when choosing, and the Livebox Up Fibre subscription allows you to benefit from it with an ultra-fast speed up to 8 Gb/s symmetrical. The increase is spectacular and the operator is not changing its prices, offering this plan at 39.99 euros for twelve months then 51.99 euros. As with all the ISP's offers, the commitment is twelve months.
If the speed of the Internet connection is your only priority, and you want an offer from Orange, the Livebox Up is the right plan. As a bonus, it includes the new Livebox 7 with Wi-Fi 7 to take advantage of the best speeds with more stability than before.
The offer also includes a Wi-Fi 6 repeater on demand, Orange TV with 200 channels included and unlimited calls to landlines (metropolitan France, overseas departments and more than 110 destinations) and mobiles (metropolitan France, Europe, overseas departments, USA and Canada).

I don't need additional services
A little cheaper than Livebox Max, the Up offer remains interesting if your home does not need at least two Wi-Fi repeaters and you are not subscribed to several of these streaming platforms: Netflix, Disney+ and Paramount+.

I subscribe to at least two of these streaming platforms
Charged 6 euros/month more (8 euros/month the first year), the Max Fibre subscription stands out when it comes to streaming platform offers. Indeed, it allows you to benefit from a 5 euro discount per platform (up to 3) even after 6 months on subscriptions to Netflix, Disney+ and Paramount+. If you subscribe to two of these video streaming services, the Livebox Max offer becomes more advantageous.

I'm looking for a very comprehensive offer
The other argument in favor of the Max formula is access to other Orange services, including Cybersecure, which the operator usually charges 7 euros per month. This security pack is included in the subscription and allows you to protect up to 10 devices.
In addition, the Livebox Max offer includes up to 3 Wi-Fi 6 repeaters (compared to 1 repeater with Livebox Up) and the Wifi Serenity option. It also includes the Airbox 20 GB for mobile speeds.
