Sinners: a shock vampire film

Projecté since this Wednesday, April 16 in our cinemas, Sinners is a horrific film by Ryan Coogler (Black Panther, Creed) starring twins Elijah and Elias, both played by Michael B. Jordan. The pitch? "As they seek to free themselves from a heavy past, two brothers return to their hometown to start anew. But they realize that a much more formidable evil power is impatiently awaiting their return..." And by evil power, understand terrifying vampires, played by, among others, Hailee Steinfeld (Hawkeye, Bumblebee) and Jack O'Connell (Skins, Lady Chatterley's Lover).

A user of Reddit spotted that At the end of the film, in the credits, Ryan Coogler thanks his colleague Christopher Nolan, the acclaimed director Oppenheimer, with whom he became friends in 2015, during the release of Creed. He has been using IMAX cameras since The Dark Knight in 2008, and has continued to improve his use of this technology ever since. As Ryan Coogler says,

I often ask him for advice on life... but for this film, it was about working with IMAX... that was the first call I made.

For The Odyssey, he's even going to use some very new IMAX technology. Regarding Ryan Coogler, he told PetaPixel that he alternated different analog film formats for his Sinners, including Super 8 and Super 16, 35mm and large format (65/70mm):

[...] we shot the film using two different camera systems. One, specific to Panavision, is called Ultra Panavision 70 and was used for films like Ben-Hur (1959) and, more recently, The Hateful Eight. We also used the IMAX format [...]

This is also the first film to be shot with these two film formats combined, thanks in particular to some advice from Christopher Nolan!
