In a few hours, the big reveal of the Nintendo Switch 2 will take place, after so many months of waiting, speculation, rumors, and leaks. In this final stretch, many rumors are circulating, such as the fact that the console would not offer 4K or that many studios still have not received their development kit.
Similarly, we learned this morning that the future Pro Controller for the Nintendo Switch 2 will benefit from a highly requested option on the model of the first console: a jack socket for connecting headphones or earphones.
Switch 2: a pro controller at the page
The first Nintendo Switch (from 2017) already had its Pro Controller, allowing for a more practical pad for playing certain games, such as EA Sports FC or car games for example. Some also used it for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and adventure games. The problem was that this Pro Controller, quite expensive, was far from perfect, not having a jack socket to connect headphones or earphones.
Well, good news, this defect should be corrected with the new Pro Controller of the Switch 2. A few days ago (March 31, 2025), a file was filed Nintendo filed a FCC (a trademark registry), revealing some information about the new controller.
According to the document, the new Pro Controller will indeed have a headphone jack so you can plug in a headset or earphones for your online games. It's certain that with the Switch 2, Nintendo will push the online part. This feature was therefore essential. Additionally, the document states that this Pro Controller "V2" will have RFID and Bluetooth compatibility.
There's also a good chance that the Switch2's famous C button will also be present on this new controller. Check back this afternoon at 3 p.m. to find out.
