Ubisoft would prepare a big surprise game for one of his best licenses

While we recently learned that Ubisoft had made a radical decision to try to save itself, new information is preparing us for the arrival of a new game from one of the publisher's best licenses. Obviously, things are moving at Ubisoft.

Ubisoft is looking to capitalize on one of its biggest current licenses

It's the very informed Tom Henderson, via Instant Gaming, who shared the news with us this weekend. According to its information, Ubisoft is working on a new game based on one of its biggest licenses: Rainbow Six. One of the three licenses to join the new division shared with Tencent. It would not be a new pure-blooded opus, but a sort of spin-off of Rainbow Six Siege, like Rainbow Six Extraction was in its time.

This new title would apparently be a turn-based tactical gamesignificantly similar to the XCOM series, a model in the genre. We would find some of the agents from Rainbow Six Siege with whom we would be led to complete different missions. Few gameplay details have been given, other than a quote from one of Henderson's sources who states that to get an idea, you should watch "a little bit of XCOM gameplay [...] it's an enhanced version with cutscenes and so on." This wouldn't be the first time Ubisoft has embraced the genre; the Mario + Rabbids series is a good example.

A Rainbow Six-esque XCOM

So we can clearly expect a 100% tactical game, where positioning should be important as well as the use of each unit's abilities. If the game is truly inspired by Rainbow Six Siege to the end, destruction should also be part of it and particularly important. But all this is just theory. Tom Henderson doesn't tell us anything else except that the game should last more than twenty hours. Ubisoft, for its part, has announced absolutely nothing at the moment.

For now, if you want something concrete with Rainbow Six Siege, you can still play the game on consoles and PC. A major update The update will also take place in June and should change everything about the game: from graphics to new game modes, including an interface overhaul and many other surprises.
