Google Chrome version 135 has arrived on the Play Store for Android smartphones. With changes, especially in terms of design. The browser now displays web pages from the edge edge, and makes the navigation bar transparent.
The design of the Google Chrome Android app is changing significantly with the arrival of version 135. The browser is now equipped with a full-width page display, with a navigation bar that is also much more discreet. This leaves more space for web pages for a much more immersive experience.
The change follows a more general evolution of the Android system's design language that Google is increasingly adopting with each update. From now on, the address bar remains visible when loading, but disappears as soon as you scroll through the content. Another change: at the bottom of the screen, the gesture bar is also displayed above a white banner.
Don't panic if the navigation bar disappears
A background that also disappears when scrolling. To make the navigation bar and the background on the gesture bar at the bottom of the screen reappear, simply scroll up the page. A mechanism that is quite intuitive to use. But which may initially confuse some users.
Activating this new design involves two things. First, you must update the Google Chrome browser to version 135, which includes the code that enables these changes. However, the new design will not necessarily be activated immediately upon installation. As is often the case with Google applications, there is also a component on the server.
The company is rolling out the new features gradually, which means the new design could arrive quite suddenly a few days after installation. It's worth noting that the company is prioritizing devices with small screens like smartphones – especially those with a bezel that already includes a gesture bar at the bottom of the screen.
Other devices and tablets are not currently affected by these new features. However, for the latter, the wait shouldn't be very long. according to our colleagues at 9to5Google, since an update specific to large screen formats should arrive soon.
