Have you just received One UI 7? One UI 8 is already on its way! Some users have been able to get their hands on this version and are giving us a glimpse of the new features.

After the One UI 7 ordeal, Samsung is already discreetly rolling out One UI 8, what new features are there?

For the past few days, we've been hearing more and more talk about the imminent availability of One UI 8. This information might have come as a surprise at first, given that Samsung has had a lot of trouble rolling out One UI 7 properly. But One UI 7 was a major update that changed a lot of interface elements and animations, while One UI 8 will only improve and optimize the foundations laid by One UI 8. We also know that Google is planning a quick release of Android 16, the version that will be used by One UI 8.

The upcoming arrival of One UI 8 is becoming even more clear as a user claims to have installed it on their Galaxy S25 Ultra. This could be a test version distributed by Samsung to a few select users, while some rumors suggest an official beta version as early as June.

One UI 8 already shows itself

From what we see from the screenshots, photos and videos shared of One UI 8, Samsung has added functions to the Now Bar, one of the flagship features of One UI 7, which allows you to display live information on the lock screen. It now supports calls, indicating the duration of the current call, or giving the option to switch to “Do Not Disturb” mode.

One UI 8 also reportedly brings more fluidity to opening and closing certain applications. A new blur effect is also noted on certain interface elements. Overall, the interface looks more modern, in keeping with the times and current trends.

We reported a few days ago that One UI 8 would allow for the expansion of virtual RAM on mobile phones, and this seems to be confirmed. A screenshot shows that the virtual RAM options (Samsung calls this option RAM Plus) now include 2, 4, 6, 8, and 12 GB of virtual RAM. Devices with 16GB of physical RAM could have up to 16GB of virtual RAM.
