Alien Earth: Release date, episode schedule... everything you need to know

The wait is almost over for fans eager to discover the Alien: Earth series. The science fiction saga has been back in the spotlight since the success of Alien: Romulus in theaters last year, and is enjoying a true renaissance. Alien: Romulus 2 is officially in development, other feature films are also said to be in development, and the excellent video game adaptation Alien: Isolation will finally get its sequel. But for now, viewers already have their eyes fixed on the first television series in the franchise, which is fast approaching. Until now, Alien: Earth had simply given us a date "this summer" without further details. But now Disney has finally decided to reveal the exact release date, which is also accompanied by some exclusive images. The launch is now set for the end of summer, enough to accompany the first TV evenings of the fall.

But why is this program making so much noise even before its release? Simply because the Xenomorph finally escapes from space environments to invite itself to Earth. Alien: Earth is a prequel that takes place in 2120, two years before the events of the first film, when the crash of a mysterious spaceship is about to change planet Earth forever. Because even if the wreck appears empty, the research team on site is far from suspecting that a fearsome creature has just infiltrated the local ecosystem...

When and how will the episodes be released?

The series Alien: Earth will consist of 8 episodes. The first two chapters will be broadcast on Tuesday, August 12, while the following ones will follow at a rate of one episode per week. Here is the episode release schedule:

  • Episodes 1 and 2: Tuesday, August 12
  • Episode 3: Tuesday, August 19
  • Episode 4: Tuesday, August 26
  • Episode 5: Tuesday, September 2
  • Episode 6: Tuesday, September 9
  • Episode 7: Tuesday, September 16
  • Episode 8: Tuesday, September 23

On which platform can you watch the series in France?

The series directed by Noah Hawley (Fargo) is an FX production, one of the broadcasters belonging to the Walt Disney Company. So, while viewers across the Atlantic will have to subscribe to Hulu or FX to discover Alien: Earth upon its release, French viewers will be able to find the series directly on Disney+. Despite the difficulties facing the streaming market, the Mickey Mouse platform has just published surprisingly positive financial results, and exclusive productions like Alien: Earth are certainly not for nothing. The company with the big ears continues to improve its catalog, but does not increase its prices as quickly as the competition: enough to attract viewers who are leaving other ships. Will you fall for the series Alien this summer?
