Apple warns users of spyware on their iPhones

Apple recommends that all users update Update their devices to the latest version of the operating system, protect devices with a passcode, use two-factor authentication (2FA) to protect access to their Apple account, install apps from the App Store, use strong passwords, and do not click on links or attachments sent by strangers (read this support sheet).

Isolation mode is also available. An option for people who may be personally targeted (because of their identity or activities).
