Baldur's Gate 3 is already rolling out a new update, what's new?

Even though Larian Studios has officially decided to stop rolling out major updates for Baldur's Gate 3 after Patch 8, the studio still intends to release hotfixes to address various bugs if needed. This is the case with Hotfix 30, which is of interest to us, a "small" update that nevertheless brings a long list of fixes. A quick perception check to see what's going on.

A hot new patch for Baldur's Gate 3

While we wait to see what Larian Studios has in store for its next two games, which are announced as "extremely ambitious," the studio is keeping a close eye on fixing any bugs that may appear in Baldur's Gate 3 following the release of patch 8. This translates into a new hotfix, more precisely the 30th of its kind. It brings several fixes in different areas.

Most of them focus on the new features added by the huge Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 8. These include bug fixes for modding, cross-play, photo mode, new subclasses, and the interface, in response to the new additions in Patch 8 and the various bugs caused by them, particularly with regard to the new skills and spells introduced. Hotfix 30 also brings some performance improvements to the game on PS5 in split-screen and Mac.

Despite the fact that Larian Studios presents this new update as a "small" hotfix, the list of these additions is extremely long. You can find all the details on the Baldur's Gate 3 Steam page, also cited as a source below. The studio also takes the opportunity to indicate that other modest updates of this type may arrive later. However, we should no longer expect any major new patches, and even less any DLC or a sequel, as Larian Studios has repeatedly stated. If Baldur's Gate 4 does happen, it will be on the Hasbro side, which will have a very significant torch to carry.
