We know it only too well: Baldur's Gate 3's major content support is now well and truly over. Larian Studios will continue to patch bugs in the game, but is now focusing on two new projects expected to be "extremely ambitious." Modders are certainly not lacking in ambition, however, as illustrated by this trailer for a mod that really has nothing to be ashamed of when it comes to official DLC, and is therefore coming soon, and for free.
An unofficial DLC for Baldur's Gate 3 that is very promising and available soon
The absolute GOTY 2023 that is Baldur's Gate 3 is not about to be forgotten. Now that the studio has left it entirely in the hands of modders, they are doubling their ambition and creativity to offer us new features worthy of official content. Between new game modes and even personalized campaigns rivaling real DLC, the future of Larian Studios' title looks bright, with or without their support.
Among them, it is worth highlighting the mod simply named "Baldur's Gate 3: Act Two Expansion", created by SquallyDaBeanz. He recently released a trailer presenting his ambitious project, with good news: completely free availability later this year. As its name suggests, the mod adds a new region accessible between Acts 2 and 3 of the original game. New areas to explore, new dungeons, items, secrets, and puzzles are coming our way soon.
Even better: this mod rivals the truly immense Act 1 of Baldur's Gate 3 in size. It's worth noting, however, that we won't be getting much interaction with NPCs, as this is very difficult to achieve without motion capture. However, the work done by SquallyDaBeanz clearly commands respect. So, check back in the coming months to discover all this for ourselves, and for free.
