Death Stranding 3: Hideo Kojima already has ideas, even before the release of Death Stranding 2

In just over a month, Hideo Kojima will bring us Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, the sequel to the adventures of Sam Porter Bridges, which we discovered in 2019 on PS4. As we enter the final stretch and the first feedback seems unanimous, the creator of the license and manager of the Kojima Production studio informs us that he already has ideas for Death Stranding 3. A Death Stranding trilogy, but without Kojima? 2: On The Beach will arrive on PS5 on June 26th and is already one of the most anticipated games of this mid-year. Six years after the first game, fans will be able to discover the continuation of Sam's adventures.

Know that Hideo Kojima already has ideas for a sequel. During an interview with our colleagues at Video Games Chronicle, Kojima mentioned the possibility of creating Death Stranding 3: "I already have a concept in mind for another sequel. I'm not going to make it myself, but if I passed it on to someone else, they would probably be able to make it."

Kojima directly announced that this hypothetical sequel will not be made with him. The 61-year-old producer and director is increasingly starting to talk about his retirement. Or, at least, his move away from video games to focus on cinema. Kojima even stated that he had stored all of his ideas on a USB stick so that his teams could continue making games, even after his death. The pitch for Death Stranding 3 is undoubtedly there.

But let's not talk about misfortune right away with a retirement (or worse, a death). After Death Stranding 2, Hideo Kojima will still have work to do since he will be positioning himself on the development of his future spy game, PHYSYNT with PlayStation, which he estimates the production duration could last five years. At the same time, Kojima will also have to lead the development of OD, a horror video game announced in partnership with Xbox.
