Elden Ring: Nightreign is coming May 30, 2025, to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series. Given Elden Ring's colossal aura, it's positioned as one of the biggest releases of the month, despite being a co-op-centric spin-off. If there was still any doubt, this new title is indeed a FromSoftware production, which will require a high level of skill to complete. In an exclusive gameplay video, IGN illustrates this very well, as you can see below.
Elden Ring Nightreign will certainly not give you a gift
Several lucky players were able to see this through a Network Test phase: Elden Ring Nightreign truly lives up to FromSoftware's Souls-like brand, with a certain degree of demands. Despite its Rogue-Lite aspect mixed with Battle Royale survival and gameplay that places a heavy emphasis on constant action, completing a game will be as much of an ordeal as exploring the titanic open worlds of the original game and its Shadow of the World Tree DLC.
The pinnacle of this FromSoftware-style difficulty will undoubtedly be the final boss that players will target when starting a game. As part of exclusive coverage of Elden Ring Nightreign, from FromSoftware's headquarters in Japan, IGN presents us in the video below one of the eight servants of the Lord of the Night that we will be able to face at the game's release. Named Libra, this one displays a unique mechanic: before fighting him, he offers you a wish, which you can, however, refuse. If you accept a gift from him, it will come at a price one way or another.
Even if you refuse his favor, this boss specific to Elden Ring Nightreign will not give you anything for free, and you risk breaking your teeth on it several times. The video below shows a fight as tough as it is epic, with attacks that inflict a lot of damage and a significant health bar. As in all FromSoftware games, Nightreign aims to offer moments that will make you sweat, to make victory even sweeter, even if it will take some determination to achieve it. One reason among many to watch for its release set for May 30, 2025.
