In a few weeks, Marvel Studios will inaugurate Phase 6 of its MCU with the first film dedicated to the Fantastic Four. The production has already been revealed in trailers and these new images of the superheroes allow us to have a glimpse of their looks as well as that of the big villain: Galactus, very faithful to the Marvel comics.
The Fantastic Four will face Galactus
The arrival of the Fantastic Four in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is scheduled for next July. Fans will find Reed Richards, Sue and Johnny Storm as well as the Thing who will be played respectively by Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Johnny Quinn and Ebon Moss Bachrach. This 37th film in the MCU, which will also be the 5th film adaptation of this superhero team, will take place in an alternative retrofuturistic New York in the 1960s. The Fantastic Four will have to fight against Galactus, the "devourer of Worlds".
While the two trailers allowed us to discover the looks of the superheroes and catch a glimpse of Galactus, these new images of the Fantastic Four and the villain give us a new glimpse of the team in action. And what's interesting to note is that the planet-destroyer will sport an appearance faithful to that of the comics. We invite you to discover these visuals accompanied by a description for each character.
#1 Reed Richards
Reed is a scientific genius who uses his incredible knowledge to create new technologies and study space. Beyond his intellect, Reed possesses the superhuman ability to bend, stretch, and extend his body parts, allowing him to easily outwit his opponents. Using the combined powers of her mind and body, Reed fights to defend Earth alongside the Fantastic Four.
#2 Sue Storm
Sue possesses the superhuman power to become invisible, allowing her to surprise her enemies without being noticed. She can create force fields with her mind to attack villains and defend her team. When Sue isn't fighting alongside the Fantastic Four, she's saving the planet in other ways. As the founder of the Future Foundation, Sue works with charities and world leaders to improve humanity and promote equality.
#3 Johnny Storm
Johnny can burst into flames, fly thousands of feet in the sky, and absorb explosions into his body—all without breaking a sweat. As the most popular member of the Fantastic Four, Johnny spends his weekends chasing thrills. But when the Fantastic Four are in the thick of battle, they can always count on Johnny to keep their cool.
#4 Ben Grimm - The Thing
Ben can walk through walls, lift cars, and defeat villains with his impressive superhuman strength. With his experience as an exceptional fighter pilot, Ben always takes the wheel when the Fantastic Four fly missions in the sky. But don't let his tough exterior fool you: Ben's close friendship with Reed Richards and the other members gives him a soft side.
Galactus, the Devourer of Worlds
For this new Fantastic Four cinematic adventure, our team of superheroes will have to face Galactus. Appearing in 1966, he is one of the most powerful beings in the Marvel Universe. Neither good nor evil, this cosmic entity embodies balance. To survive, he absorbs the energy of planets. He was known as a man named Galan in the previous universe and was reborn as Galactus.
He always arrives preceded by the Silver Surfer, who must find worlds for him to devour. In the next Marvel production, he will be played by Ralph Ineson. The preview of his look revealed shows us that the studio has decided to represent him in a way that is ultra-faithful to the comics.
See you on July 23, 2025 to discover Fantastic Four: First Steps. In the meantime, here is this nod to the Avengers made by the future MCU film.
