It's no longer a secret: with its Nintendo Switch 2, the Japanese company intends more than ever to open the way to publishers from all over the world. We saw this during the presentation of the machine, thanks to its power, it will now be able to accommodate a greater number of third-party games that we could never have hoped for before. Among others, notably, FF7 Remake Intergrade, which will also accompany the console at its launch. And according to the creator of the series, this should not be the last.
FF7 Remake on Nintendo Switch 2, this is only the beginning
In an interview published on the official Nintendo America channel, Naoki Hamaguchi heavily implied that the sequels to FF7 Remake could also receive the same treatment. "I'm hopeful that we can establish a strong partnership between Nintendo and the Final Fantasy brand," he assures, before adding: "I hope players are eager to discover the Final Fantasy 7 remake series on Nintendo Switch 2." After that, there's no doubt that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will follow.
The creator also shared his enthusiasm at the idea of bringing the series to Nintendo's new console, a manufacturer for which he has a very special affection. "This is the first time I've had the opportunity to create something for a Nintendo Switch console, and it's very special for me," he confides after revealing that he has been in the business for twenty-four years now. "And the fact that this is happening with the FF7 remake series […] makes me feel like it was destiny.".
Conquering Nintendo's audience
This is a partnership that only bodes well for the future and should please fans of FF7 Remake, knowing that Hamaguchi is now looking forward to being able to introduce the real versions of Cloud and Sephiroth to Nintendo's audience. Because while they weren't able to meet them in Final Fantasy 7 until now, players were still able to meet them in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, where they joined the cast a while ago. Now it remains to be seen how long we'll have to wait before seeing FF7 Rebirth and its still-unannounced sequel arrive on Nintendo Switch 2.
