As we slowly recover from the sensational release of the second trailer for GTA 6 yesterday, things could be accelerating very quickly, and very soon with a new communication time. Indeed, the official page for Grand Theft Auto VI has just appeared on the PlayStation Store, implying that pre-orders are not far off.
GTA6: Pre-orders soon?
Last week, players and fans learned with despair that GTA 6, the next game from Rockstar Games and the new installment in the Grand Theft Auto saga would not be on time. The latter, scheduled for fall 2025, was thus postponed to May 26, 2026. The positive point? That's because we now have a precise release date for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
What if this date had just been officially revealed to prepare for the launch of pre-orders? In any case, things seem to be moving forward on Sony's side, since the official listing for GTA 6 is now available on the PlayStation Store.
For the moment, it is not possible to pre-order the game. You can only add it to your wish list. Likewise, there is still nothing on the Xbox Store. But, it still seems to be getting active and preparing pre-orders that could be imminent.
Indeed, for the last two games from Rockstar Games, including GTA 5, pre-orders were launched in November 2012, 10 months before the game's release on the PlayStation Store and the Xbox Store. At the end of May 2013, we were treated to real pre-orders with the special and collector's editions.
For Red Dead Redemption II, pre-orders were launched at the very beginning of June 2018, directly with the PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, physical, special, ultimate, and collector's editions.
For GTA 6, could Rockstar once again choose the end of May or the beginning of June? To be continued.
