Samsung's famous tri-fold smartphone should be here soon. It has been confirmed in half-hearted terms by the brand, which spoke the importance of innovation, ergonomics, and meeting the real needs of users.
It's been talked about for years, the first Samsung smartphone foldable in three parts could be launched in 2025. The device is expected in the third quarter, and will probably be presented at the same time as the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 during an Unpacked conference.
Samsung remains vague on this point, but dropped some clues during the conference call accompanying the publication of its financial results for the first quarter. Asked about its strategy for foldable devices, the manufacturer apparently mentioned without naming it the one that could be called Galaxy G Fold.
A Galaxy G Fold foldable in three in the summer of 2025?
The manufacturer has started by declaring its desire to “optimize the competitiveness of its products through innovation in terms of format”, reports SamMobile. It also mentions “big screen experiences” to come, probably referring to the display (around 9.9-10 inches according to leaks) that its three-part foldable smartphone would offer, once unfolded.
Samsung also emphasized the importance of “ensuring ergonomics that meet customer expectations in real-life usage environments”. We therefore hope that more than a technological showcase, the terminal will meet concrete needs and remain practical to handle. The brand adds that priority is given to portability and performance, and that Galaxy AI will be optimized for foldable devices.
The Galaxy G Fold is not expected to be available in all markets upon its release. Production would be limited and it is very possible that it will not be marketed in France. If this first batch is successful, the following generations would then be sold more widely internationally.
Remember that Samsung is also preparing a Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, a cheaper version of its foldable clamshell phone. On May 13, the manufacturer could also announce its Galaxy S25 Edge. This smartphone will be much thinner and lighter than the other Galaxy S25 models, confirming Samsung's intentions to invest in design innovations to stand out.
