Kingdom Hearts: New leaks for the next official game and it should please

It's not easy being a Kingdom Hearts fan every day. In 2022, Square Enix announced two new projects to mark the franchise's twentieth anniversary with great fanfare: Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link, a mobile game, and Kingdom Hearts 4. Unfortunately, three years later, both are still nowhere to be seen. This is all the more surprising in the case of Missing-Link, as the title was initially expected for 2024, before being ultimately delayed by the publisher. And today, we may have an idea why.

Indeed, if we believe the information shared by YouTuber TheGamersJoint, it could be that the mobile game is actually much richer than we could have imagined. How? Thanks to the presence of more than twenty Disney worlds in the adventure in Kingdom Hearts Missing Link. This is in any case what data recovered by dataminers in the game files, extracted from the latest build dating from May 2024, suggest. Of course, as it stands, we still don't know which worlds are concerned, and especially how they will appear within the experience.

The YouTuber, who specializes in everything related to Kingdom Hearts, nevertheless implies that it could be much more than simple themed battle arenas. He also mentions the possibility that not all of them will necessarily be available at the game's launch, some could arrive later via future updates. And if all this is true, we then understand a little better why the game could have been delayed. Because by offering more than twenty Disney worlds, Missing-Link would simply have one of the biggest line-ups in the franchise.

A mobile game and everything that goes with it

On a slightly less cheerful note, TheGamersJoint also took the opportunity to confirm that microtransactions should be part of Kingdom Hearts Missing Link. That being said, we can't really say that this is a surprise from a mobile game. Because let's remember, Missing-Link, which will follow Kingdom Hearts Union χ[Cross], will be released exclusively on iOS and Android. Now it remains to be seen when exactly, the game having not really given any sign of life since its last beta organized in May 2024. Except to announce its postponement to an undetermined date, of course.
