Every month, our favorite SVOD platforms are stocked with new releases. Like Netflix, Disney, and Max, Prime Video also regularly expands its catalog. Sometimes, it's extremely condensed, while other times, conversely, it's much more subdued. That's what's happening this week on Amazon's platform, where we'll only have one new series to get our teeth into. Fortunately, there are plenty of other programs to check out!
THE Prime Video series of the week of May 12 to 18, 2025
Yes, there will be only one new series this week, the series Overcompensation which arrives with a brand new first season. For a few episodes, we will follow Benny, a star student of American football and former king of his school prom who still hasn't come out. He will befriend Carmen, a marginal high school student with a strong character. Both will try to find their place and it's not easy. A fresh, comedic series that will be making its debut on Prime Video this week.

The films we recommend this week
There won't be anything else, not even a single film. Fortunately, Prime Video added several at the beginning of the month. If you haven't taken the time to check it out yet, now's the time to do it this week. So why not take advantage of the lack of new releases to watch Alone Emily 2, the sequel to the hit thriller of the same name starring Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick? Finally, the excellent The Gentlemen by Guy Ritchie has also been available since the beginning of May, a very successful action film with a 5-star cast.
