Godzilla's adventures in the land of Marvel superheroes continue with a new crossover that promises to be epic. Indeed, the famous Japanese monster and the vigilantes of the House of Ideas clash or merge in a series of very stylish one-shots by Gerry Duggan and Javier GarrĂ³n, shortly after the Kaiju bonded with Venom for a terrifying result in Godzilla vs Spider-Man!
Godzilla x Marvel, the explosive fusion
Forget those famous character fusions with Ghost Rider, we've found something even better: the unlikely mix between the flaming biker and Godzilla! Still part of the one-shot series dedicated to the King of the Monsters, the result of the partnership between Toho and Marvel entitled Godzilla Destroys the Marvel Universe, a new issue has just been unveiled. This time, the famous Kaiju crosses paths with the Ghost Rider, and the result is something you can see on the cover below.
On fire, his body wrapped in leather and metal armor, his bare skull surrounded by flames, chains and smoke billowing from him, Godzilla is unrecognizable. Created by Dave Wachter, this illustration reflects the characteristics of both characters, and the destructive potential of such a monster.

This cover does not necessarily mean that Godzilla will acquire the powers deGhost-Rider in this one-shot, since you'll have to wait until August 20th to buy a copy of Godzilla Destroys the Marvel Universe #2. The official pitch has been revealed by Marvel: As the King of the Monsters prepares to reduce Manhattan to a pulp, Earth's Mightiest Heroes find reinforcements in the most unlikely place: the Bar with No Name! Will their combined efforts be enough to slow Godzilla down, or are they just adding fuel to the fire as the Venom Symbiote discovers an even more attractive predator to latch onto? Plus, Black Panther makes a shocking discovery about the nature of Vibranium and the reasons Godzilla is on a rampage! But will it be enough to make a difference after the disappearance of Mister Fantastic, the Invisible Woman, and the entire Baxter Building?
A synopsis that suggests that Ghost Rider won't be the only vigilante from the House of Ideas to appear in the pages of this comics (in fact, he's not even mentioned). However, in previous issues, the artists at the House of Ideas have proven that they won't hold back on any eccentricity for this series. After all, the monster even gained the powers of this cosmic superhero during his encounter with the Fantastic Four... But given that several variant covers show Godzilla in other, very different poses, this could also just be an illustrator's dream reserved for a cover! Moreover, the Kaiju is preparing to merge a second time with Venom, shortly after Godzilla vs Spider-Man #1, released on April 30.
As for the King of the Monsters, he will also be back in theaters in 2027 in Godzilla X Kong 2, whose cosmic teaser can be discovered here.
