At Remedy Entertainment, there's no time to be bored. Since the release of Alan Wake 2 in 2023, the Finnish studio has been regularly communicating on the progress of its various projects. Recently, for example, we were treated to a major live presentation of FBC: Firebreak, its multiplayer title expected for June 17th. A game set in the Control universe, the sequel to which actually entered production last February. As for the Max Payne 1&2 remake, it's also progressing rather well.
Remedy gives news on the Max Payne remake
This is indeed what Tero Virtala, CEO of Remedy, announced during the company's latest financial report. Having entered full production in late 2024, the title appears to have made good progress toward some of the major milestones in its development. It should therefore be among the studio's upcoming releases, alongside FBC: Firebreak and Control 2. But does this mean we'll soon be treated to the first images of the game? For now, nothing is less certain. Because as Virtala revealed during a Q&A session: marketing does not depend on them.
All communication and marketing are in the hands [of Rockstar Games], and we will not comment on this.
Tero Virtala, about the Max Payne remake
Because yes, it is probably good to remember: if Remedy is indeed in charge of the game's development, it is Rockstar Games that is in charge of publishing. We'll have to wait until the creators of GTA 6 decide to make room for Max Payne 1 & 2 in their schedule before seeing the first colors. That said, nothing is stopping the star-studded company from promoting the two titles in parallel. And if development progresses as well as Remedy says, we're not immune to a first trailer in the coming months. Maybe even as early as Summer Game Fest, who knows?
