After an April 2025 filled with great video game releases like Koira, Blue Prince, Clair Obscur Expedition 33, Fatal Fury City of the Wolves and solid ports such as Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle and Forza Horizon 5 on PS5, as well as The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered on PC, May 2025 also promises to be particularly busy with titles that deserve some attention, as well as public holidays to enjoy them. So let's take stock of the video game calendar for the coming month.
Another infernal video game calendar for May 2025
The first quarter of 2025 has definitely spoiled us with some very good games, and it clearly doesn't intend to stop there for May 2025. In the first ten days of the month alone, we already have several releases to keep a close eye on. On May 6, for example, we have four games that may be worth checking out: the party game Among US 3D on PC, the fast-paced FPS Metal Eden on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series, and a port of the crazy High on Life on Switch. On May 8th, we'll see two other promising games: Revenge of the Savage Planet, the sequel to the excellent Journey to the Savage Planet, on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series, and finally the RPG Empyreal, on the same platforms.
In the second ten days of May 2025, we'll see probably THE biggest release of the month, if not one of the biggest releases of the year: DOOM The Dark Ages, the medieval return of id Software's cult FPS franchise, expected on May 15th on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series. The next day, we also have a collection of fighting game monuments with the Capcom Fighting Collection 2, on the same platforms as well as on Switch.
We'll finish our overview of video game releases for May 2025 with a final ten days of the month that's still very busy. These include the deck-builder/rogue-lite Monster Train 2 on May 21st for PC and consoles, the intriguing action-adventure game Blades of Fire on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Tactical Takedown on PC and Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Battle Destiny Remastered on PC and Switch, all four on May 22nd. The following day, the landmark Onimusha 2 released in 2002 also makes its grand return in a Remaster on our modern platforms. Finally, May 30th will see the arrival of the cooperative spin-off Elden Ring Nightreign on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series.
