On Pornhub, a bioengineering researcher popularizes math

Is Pornhub becoming the new YouTube? While the platform is primarily known for its explicit videos, it's also full of wackier initiatives. Between videos, you can even brush up on your math lessons. And no, it's not a joke.

The originator of this initiative is Zara Darcy, an independent bioengineering researcher. Previously active on traditional platforms like YouTube, she's now making a name for herself on adult platforms like Pornhub and OnlyFans, where she strives to popularize science and mathematics. No dirty undertones here; the young woman excels by explaining the origins of the number Pi, how neural networks work, and the subtleties of derivative functions. Enough to excite a new audience, while offering the bioengineer a much more substantial income.

Decomplexing scientific popularization

With her videos, the young woman aims to make accessible concepts that are often poorly explained and perceived as intimidating in the world of mathematics. While the choice of Pornhub as her preferred platform may raise a smile, it also reflects a complex situation for content creators trying to make a name for themselves on YouTube. The platform, launched in 2005, is overloaded, with monetization increasingly dependent on Google's goodwill. The specialist quickly came up against the limits imposed by the site's policies. Faced with changing algorithms and fierce competition, she then tried an experiment: publishing the same videos on Pornhub, where no one expects to come across traditional math lessons. Success was immediate.

Prof 3.0

On Pornhub, Zara Darcy's videos are going viral. Her latest lesson on integrals has exceeded 660,000 views and boasts an 87% satisfaction rate. Her earnings follow: for one million views, she earns $1,000, compared to only $340 on YouTube. In total, her monthly earnings reach up to $250,000, an amount that allows her to quit her doctorate and live off her passion for popularizing science.

This success is no accident: Zara Darcy happily plays with the adult platform's codes, tagging her videos "student" or "big breasts" to attract the algorithm's attention. Don't expect to find explicit content, however: her channel, like her OnlyFan account, only compiles educational videos. A good way to revise before the approaching end-of-year exams.
