Red Dead Redemption: An unpleasant surprise discovered, players are angry

Red Dead Redemption: An unpleasant surprise discovered, players are angry

We may not be playing GTA 6 as planned this year, but it seems that Rockstar Games has a few more surprises up its sleeve. Indeed, according to recent rumors, the star-studded company is currently working on two other projects, namely a port of GTA 4 and a next-gen and Nintendo Switch 2 version of Red Dead Redemption 2. And naturally, this news made a lot of players happy. But it is now being counterbalanced by what looks like a vicious move from Take-Two Interactive.

Red Dead Redemption is silently increasing its prices

And for good reason: some have recently discovered that the publisher has discreetly slightly increased the retail price of the two Red Dead Redemption installments on stores in certain countries. In the UK, for example, the PS4 version of the first game has gone from £39.99 to £49.99, while that of Red Dead Redemption 2 has gone from £54.99 to £59.99. The bundle that includes both games has not been spared either, since it is now priced at £99.99, compared to £84.99 previously.

And this is just one example among many others, since similar price increases have also been observed in Brazil, the Czech Republic, and Chile, for both the PlayStation and Xbox versions of the game. As for France, however, we are spared for the moment. It even appears that the bundle including both Red Dead Redemption games is at its lowest price to date, namely €44.99 compared to the usual €99.99. That's a 55% reduction, in short, but it's obviously only temporary, unlike price increases.

An early return from Take-Two?

For those who were planning to embark on the adventure soon, this may be an opportunity to seize as soon as possible. Because as things stand, we are not immune to a potential increase in the coming weeks. An increase that, moreover, seems to have been implemented after the first rumors concerning the return of Red Dead Redemption 2. From there to thinking that Take-Two voluntarily anticipated the renewed interest that there could be around the game, there is only one step... There are no small profits, as they say.
