Han Solo, the famous smuggler played by Harrison Ford in the original trilogy and the prequels released in the 2010s, plays a key role in the Star Wars saga. And with the release of the excellent season 2 of Andor on Disney+, and the emergence of a new type of connection to the Force, his place in the plot becomes even more important.

The universe of Star Wars continues to expand over the years and with its various spin-off programs : films, series, comics, novels... The launch of Disney+, the streaming platform from the studios with the big ears, has allowed for new adventures to be explored on the small screen. One of these is dedicated to Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), one of the main characters of Rogue One. The second season, currently airing, traces the last years of his life before his suicide mission against the Empire, Darth Vader, and Palpatine, who was also humiliated by Mon Mothma in episode 9. In episode 7, titled A Messenger, the universe of Star Wars is revealed in a new light: during a conversation with Cassian Andor, a healer calls him a "Gatherer". According to her, this term defines people with a particular type of connection to the Force... Which reminds us of Han Solo!

During the episode, Bix Caleen takes Cassian Andor to see a Force healer to treat a wound that is healing poorly, despite the pilot's lack of enthusiasm. This caregiver, however, has some interesting revelations to make: according to her, Cassian is "unique" and "important," he is a "messenger" who "brings people together wherever he goes": Most people carry within them what has shaped them. They carry the past. But some... a very few... gather people as they go. There is a purpose to this. They are messengers. There is a place they must go. As our colleagues at Screen Rant point out, the characterization of the Rebel fits with the image of Han Solo. They aren't Force-sensitive characters, and when they first met the "true heroes" of the fight against the Empire, they were only interested in money. But over time, Han Solo becomes a central figure in the game, getting involved in the fight and attracting others to join the Cause.

Do you think Han Solo is also a "Gatherer"?
