The Nubia Z70S Ultra, freshly launched in China, is now available internationally. Available in two versions (12 or 16 GB of RAM), it comes in classic black or retro brown, with a rather elegant look and an imposing size. Those who like large screens will be served: 6.85 inches, AMOLED technology, 144 Hz refresh rate... we are clearly at the top of the range. The front camera is hidden under the screen, for an "all-screen" display without notch or punch-hole.
It has everything you need
Under the hood, it's also robust: Nubia is banking on the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, LPDDR5X memory, UFS 4.0 storage, and a large 6,600 mAh battery compatible with 80 W fast charging. Translation: it should run very smoothly, even in games, and last all day without flinching. The phone is also water and dust resistant (IP68/IP69), and is Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 compatible.
But where Nubia really pushes the envelope is in photography. The brand makes no secret of it: its Z70S Ultra is aimed at demanding, even passionate, users. The device is equipped with a 50-megapixel main sensor developed with Omnivision, accompanied by an ultra-wide-angle and a 64 MP periscopic telephoto lens. Close-up enthusiasts will appreciate being able to shoot from just 15 cm away.
Image processing relies on a set of in-house technologies and AI, including a dedicated motion photography function, “cinema” tone filters, optimized modes for sunsets or starry skies, and even a dual-level physical shutter release like on a real camera. The cherry on the cake: a retro pro camera-style kit is in the works, with a grip, rings, and accessories.
The Z70S Ultra isn't just for photographers. With a very high touch response rate (up to 2,500 Hz), an interface optimized for gaming, and performance well-honed by an e-sports team, it also ticks the box for mobile gamers. And for those who think outside the box, Nubia has thought of a rare feature: the ability to make offline calls, without a mobile network.
As a bonus, those who pre-order the smartphone before its official release will be entitled to a few gifts: a charger (otherwise absent from the box), a protective case, and even a free replacement in the event of a problem within the first 180 days. All for €769 (256GB + 12GB) or €869 (512GB + 16GB).
