The Sims 4: A mod already essential for long-time fans

The Sims 4: A mod already essential for long-time fans

Do you love nostalgia and retro gadgets? Good news: a new mod for The Sims 4 takes your Sims back to the days of floppy disks, big boxy PCs, and landline phones. Its name? Retrofruit. Created by Arnie, this mod is a direct extension of the Plumfruit collection… but in a vintage version.

A perfectly recreated retro feel in The Sims 4

With Retrofruit, your home in The Sims 4 gets a real makeover, in a good way. The idea is to recreate the technological world of the 90s and 2000s. You'll find a CRT-style computer, a landline phone with a handset, a desktop printer, CDs, floppy disks, and even a mini MP3 player. Not only is everything visually accurate, but it's also fully functional. For example, your Sim can make phone calls, print documents, or listen to music on a colorful miniPod.

It's not just for decoration for The Sims 4. Every object in the Retrofruit pack has a real purpose. The landline phone lets you order a pizza or call a friend. The printer can print resumes, bills, or even family memorabilia. And floppy disks, CDs, and USB drives serve as storage media. Even better: the storage towers for your CDs and floppy disks are also usable. You can drag and drop your items into it, organize them, and create a real office space worthy of the 2000s.

A style that's been carefully crafted right down to the details

Retrofruit isn't just a nostalgia effect for The Sims 4. The mod has been carefully designed. All the objects are well animated, with sounds, visuals, and even custom interfaces. The iPlum Classic, for example, looks like an old desktop PC, but functions like any computer in the game.

Even the retro camera is there, ready to immortalize your Sims' memories. It pairs perfectly with the mod's storage media to preserve photos. And of course, the matching desk completes the set, available in several colors. Everything can be found at this link. Unfortunately, you need to be a subscriber for the moment.
