Season 2 of Severance has been in the spotlight with the recent release of the second season, but it's not the only sci-fi series on Apple TV Plus. Another, starring Rebecca Fergusson, is also worth a look. Apple has announced the upcoming arrival of the third season.
Severance here, Severance there. Ben Stiller's series is undoubtedly the flagship of Apple TV+. However, the platform is home to other quality sci-fi series. One of them, adapted from a novel by Hugh Howey and starring Rebecca Fergusson (Dune), is worth a look.
It's called Silo, and it has already had two seasons that were acclaimed by critics and viewers. Following this success, a third season has logically been put into production. Apple announced today that filming is complete! For the occasion, a behind-the-scenes photo has been published.
When will season 3 of Silo be released?
So season 3 of Silo is in the can. If we stick to the usual pace of the series (10-12 months of post-production), the episodes should be broadcast at the end of the year or in early 2026. In total, Silo will take place over four seasons, thus completing the plot of the original book. It should be noted that the literary saga includes three novels: Silo, but also the spin-offs Silo Generations and Silo Origins, some elements of which are taken up in the plot of the series. As a reminder, Silo is a post-apocalyptic series that takes place mainly in a fallout shelter inhabited by 10,000 people. The series follows Juliette Nichols, confronted by the political machinations of this micro-society, who sets out on a quest for the truth. Why is the administration lying? What is really outside? What is the true purpose of the silos? These are questions that the series skillfully plays with throughout its episodes.
One thing is certain, season 3 will take us out of the underground shelter a little to explore other aspects of the Silo universe. All that remains is to wait for the next broadcast.
