Computex 2025 is in full swing, and it's an opportunity for manufacturers like ASUS to showcase their new products. The Taiwanese manufacturer isn't holding back and is updating the entire TUF Gaming 2025 range, incorporating the latest technologies. Among the most notable announcements is the first 18-inch model in the TUF Gaming family.
This beautiful baby doesn't really go unnoticed with its 18-inch IPS display offering a 2.5K resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels (WQXGA), or a 16:10 aspect ratio. The panel has an anti-glare coating and offers a 240 Hz refresh rate and a 3 ms response time. Brightness reaches 500 nits and the screen, compatible with DDS and G-SYNC, offers 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space. But the TUF Gaming A18 isn't just about size, and its chassis, which is partly made of metal, hides a real racing beast.
ASUS integrates an AMD Ryzen 7260 processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 graphics card (8 GB, 115 W), a combination designed to effortlessly handle the latest and most demanding games. To complement this raw power, the A18 comes with up to 32GB of DDR5 5600MHz memory and up to 2TB of PCIe Gen 4 SSD storage. This is a solid setup that should allow gamers to play, stream, and store their game library. It all runs on Windows 11 Pro.
The first 18-inch TUF Gaming laptop promises great value
The ASUS TUF Gaming A18 sports a sleek and relatively low-profile chassis (for a gaming PC) designed to efficiently cool components. It features 2nd generation Arc Flow Fans, a full-width heatsink, and larger exhaust vents for optimized and quieter cooling. The laptop also complies with the MIL-STD-810H standard to ensure greater robustness.
In terms of connectivity, it offers a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port (supporting DisplayPort with G-SYNC and Power Delivery), a USB4 port (supporting DisplayPort with G-SYNC), two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, a USB 2.0 Type-A port, an HDMI 2.1 output, an RJ45 LAN port, and an audio jack. Wireless connectivity is provided by WiFi 6E and Bluetooth v5.3.
For audio, gamers will enjoy stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos technology, Hi-Res Audio support, and two-way AI noise cancellation. A 90Wh battery powers the machine, accompanied by a 240W power adapter (with an optional 100W PD adapter). Other notable features include a 180° hinge and a 1080p IR camera with Windows Hello support. Finally, the keyboard is not left out with Mini LED RGB backlighting and full-size directional arrows.
Price and availability
With the TUF Gaming 2025 range, including the A18, ASUS promises performance at a balanced price, aimed at gamers, students, and anyone looking for a versatile and powerful laptop. The first 18-inch laptop in this family will not, however, be the easiest to carry, with dimensions of 39.9 cm wide, 28.3 cm deep, and a thickness varying from 1.89 cm at the front to 2.67 cm at the back. As for the weight, this beautiful baby weighs 2.6 kg.
The ASUS TUF Gaming A18 will be available in France in May 2025, starting at 1699 euros. As usual, it will be available at all of the brand's partner retailers as well as on the Asus Store.
