June has begun, and Activision has yet to announce Call of Duty 2025. But rumors point to a more ambitious Zombies mode than ever, the return of wall-running, a 32-versus-32 multiplayer mode, and even, and this is the bad news, a revamped Battle Pass that could cost players dearly. When will this game, which is said to be Black Ops 7, be made official? Perhaps at the Xbox Games Showcase 2025, although the conference schedule is not yet known.
The Call of Duty 2026 campaign is revealed a little more
While waiting to see if the rumors surrounding Black Ops 7 are true, Call of Duty 2026 is the victim of a new leak that comes once again from TheGhostOfHope. If you're not up to date, a reminder of the previous leaks might not hurt. According to the user, this opus developed by Infinity Ward would be Modern Warfare 4 and would have the code name "Devilwood." A game that would fit into the Ghosts timeline and that could bring back mechanics like the Omnimovement introduced in Black Ops 6 as well as the wall run.
But TheGhostOfHope has spoken again about Call of Duty 2026 and in particular its campaign. According to him, North and South Korea will play a "major" role in the latter. Task Force 141, which is used to MW and was also seen again in Modern Warfare 3, would be one of the playable factions, along with the SAS and the Republic of Korea Armed Forces. One of the series' main antagonists, Vladimir Makarov, would be the main target to take down. "These are the three factions you play as to eliminate Makarov and the Konni group, who are conducting false flag operations to start a third world war," says TheGhostOfHope. While Call of Duty 2026 should therefore have a modern warfare feel, there would be some futuristic technology and weapons. A huge change has also leaked, and it will please fans, at least for one part. The game would completely abandon the PS4 and Xbox One. A choice that would be notably motivated by the studio's desire to update their graphics engine.
