Last night, Sony broadcast the latest edition of its State of Play. For nearly fifty minutes, we were treated to a multitude of announcements for upcoming games between now and 2026, including Silent Hill, 007 First Light, and Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater. A solid conference, but one that also generates a lot of talk, and it's not the recent announcement of Final Fantasy Tactics The Ivalice Chronicles that will make us lie, since if the return of this cult game is welcomed, the prices applied quickly calmed the ardor of the fans
A beautiful Collector's Edition for Final Fantasy Tactics
The subject of multiple rumors for several years now, the return of the title was indeed confirmed during the evening by means of a nice trailer revealing all the improvements expected for this future remaster. Final Fantasy Tactics The Ivalice Chronicles has therefore been announced for September 30, 2025 on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 1 & 2 and PC. There won't be long to wait before being able to enjoy it. And since good news never comes alone, Square Enix has also announced that there will be a beautiful collector's edition for the occasion. This should make many collectors happy on paper, but in practice, it hurts a lot. The reason for this cold shower? The prices are considered exorbitant by many.
The price of nostalgia is making people grind their teeth
Indeed, if you plan to get your hands on the collector's edition without the game, it will cost you a whopping €230. As a bonus, note that the bonus items announced for the Deluxe Edition will not be included in this box set. Final Fantasy Tactics The Ivalice Chronicles is priced at €60 on its own. Do the math, if you want to get the game and its collector's edition, you'll have to shell out a whopping €290. You read that right.
We'll leave you with that and the upcoming content of this XXL collector's edition, which still offers quite a few little things. It remains to be seen if this justifies such a price for you now.
Contents of the FF Tactics The Ivalice Chronicles Collector's Edition:
- A special illustrated box featuring an illustration of the protagonists on its front, and the game's world map on its back
- A Ramza Béoulve figurine (officer cadet version) delivered with its base
- A set of three mini-plush chocobos, black chocobo and red chocobo accompanied by their elastic band
- An assortment of twelve magnets in the colors of the zodiac gems faithfully reproduced in translucent acrylic
- A pop-up illustration of the Isolated Church, which reproduces in detail the building and its surroundings
- A set of three glossy-coated posters, which then represent Ramza, the main visual of Final Fantasy Tactics, and finally the world map.
