ChatGPT adds a series of features that will boost your productivity

ChatGPT continues to improve. OpenAI has just announced the arrival of a series of new features designed to boost the productivity of its users. The startup first mentions the deployment of a function called Connector. In testing since March, the function allows ChatGPT to connect to external services.

As OpenAI explains, ChatGPT "can now connect to more internal sources and extract contextual information in real time." Among the services to which the AI can be connected are popular tools like Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Google Drive, and Gmail.

ChatGPT can browse your documents

Once connected to the services, ChatGPT is able to browse the documents of its interlocutors. Next, the AI can perform an in-depth search. This is an advanced feature of ChatGPT that allows the AI to search for more precise and comprehensive information, online or in documents, to construct its responses. Users can ask the chatbot to find specific information contained in their own files, such as spreadsheets or text documents. With the user's permission, ChatGPT then analyzes the stored documents to extract the answer directly. The AI does the same thing when browsing the web, saving the user from having to do their own research. Unsurprisingly, the Connector feature is reserved for subscribers to paid offers, such as ChatGPT Plus. Unfortunately, it is not currently available in the European Economic Area, likely for regulatory reasons. We'll have to wait before OpenAI is able to offer the option in Europe.

Furthermore, OpenAI announces the arrival of a recording mode on macOS. Reserved for Team subscribers, the mode allows you to record "any meeting, brainstorming session, or voice note" and request a transcription from ChatGPT. The AI can then present the data in any format you want.

3 million subscribers for ChatGPT

This batch of new features promises to be particularly useful for users who use ChatGPT for work. Increasingly versatile, will the conversational robot become an essential tool in the business world? In the process, OpenAI reveals that ChatGPT now has more than 3 million subscribers to its paid offerings, compared to 2 million last February.
