David Harbour is super excited for Stranger Things to end for this very understandable reason

He is one of the major actors in Stranger Things. David Harbor, who plays Sheriff Jim Hopper, is currently wrapping filming the final season of Stranger Things, which arrives this winter on Netflix. In a joint interview with Scarlett Johansson on Interview Magazine, the actor expressed his intense desire to move on.

A feeling that stems from 10 years of playing a role that seems to be becoming somewhat stifling for him. While, according to him, it also reduces his ability to play other projects with a leading role. At least for now. These frustrations seem to explain why David Harbor is really, really impatient for Stranger Things to end.

David Harbor (Sheriff Jim Hopper) wants Stranger Things to end as soon as possible

The man who has been one of the most important adult actors since season 1 of Stranger Things explains: "When I first started, I loved it so much. Friends of mine who had worked on TV shows for years would say to me, 'By season three or four, you'll be ready to run away.' And I'd say, 'Never! I love this whole crew so much.'" he recalls.

"And then, after a while, you think to yourself, 'Is there that much more story to tell?' You find yourself replaying the same scenes a lot, the same emotions, and you feel this need to take a risk. To do something that people haven't seen you do before. So yeah, after ten years, you're like, 'Okay, fine.'"

He goes on a little later to talk about the impact the role has had on his personal life while the show is still running. "I have these sort of reflexes like, 'I can't cut my hair,' or 'I can't shave this damn mustache,'" he reveals with a hint of frustration.

Fortunately for David Harbor and for fans of Stranger Things, the finale is near. Netflix has revealed that the final season 5 of Stranger Things will arrive on December 4, 2026 on Netflix.
