Between September 2024 and January 2025, LEGO invited the brand's most creative fans to submit their original set ideas. A Godzilla fan proposed an incredible build dedicated to the Japanese monster, and it will soon be available for purchase. Whether it's comics, movies, or toys, it proves that kaiju is popular!
This LEGO competition rewards Godzilla
LEGO designer Ellen Bowley and LEGO community manager Travis Barbour have revealed the results of the LEGO Ideas Reviews Board, which allows everyone to suggest set ideas to the brand. This year, 54 concepts passed the pre-selection stage, and only two of them will become concrete objects in the future. Tintin's Rocket by tkel86 and Godzilla by Matthew Esposito will join the ranks of LEGO sets, two sets that promise to be magnificent, but whose price is already worrying consumers...
A LEGO Godzilla that will please fans of the monster
The LEGO Godzilla that interests us here is presented as a titanic version of the Japanese monster. According to its creator, it's a model "whose appearance is primarily based on Legendary Pictures' most recent depictions of Godzilla, such as Godzilla: King of the Monsters, and Godzilla vs. Kong, as well as the upcoming film Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire [the teaser of which can be seen here, editor's note]." Matthew Esposito previously presented his kaiju in 2023, and he proposed it again in 2024 after the rules changed to accommodate more diverse set ideas.
We don't yet know what the dimensions of this set will be, nor its price or the number of pieces. For comparison, on the LEGO website, "Dinosaur Fossils: Tyrannosaurus rex" with 3145 pieces is 249.99 euros. We wouldn't be surprised if you'd have to pay a similar amount for Godzilla...
