Among the most important changes, the Favorites tab is now easier to use. It now allows you to add more complicated commands, such as adjusting the temperature or managing all the connected bulbs in your home. This customization is also available on other screens. For example, you can now create special ones for your smartwatch or tablet, without changing your phone's main configuration. Home routines are also getting smarter, with new ways to launch them, like presence detection that adapts its behavior depending on who is there.

For Nest cameras, everything is faster and simpler. You can now go forward or back 10 seconds in the video history with a double-click. And scrolling through it is smoother too. If you have a Google TV, you can even see what your connected cameras in picture-in-picture mode while you watch TV. The app now integrates new devices. This includes better management of Nest Protect smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, as well as expanded support for third-party Matter locks. Finally, a new Home Summary widget gives a quick overview of important devices and events directly on the phone's home screen.
