Next40 / FrenchTech 120: these 46 French gems that could become the giants of tomorrow

Next40 / FrenchTech 120: these 46 French gems that could become the giants of tomorrow

The new Next40 / FrenchTech 120 promotion was just unveiled this Tuesday, and presents companies that could well be among the big names of tomorrow.

While the European economic context remains very anxiety-provoking, this ranking is an opportunity to discover new start-ups, some of which are already well known worldwide.

Objective criteria for these rankings

In order to produce these rankings while remaining as objective as possible, the companies are selected on very distinct criteria.

FrenchTech 120 chooses the 80 companies that have raised at least €30 million in funding and generated a turnover of at least €20 million.

For its part, Next 40 brings together the 40 companies that achieved net revenue of at least €100 million last year and with a similar amount through fundraising over the past three years.

A very diverse ranking

Among the companies joining this program, while new technologies are indeed present, we can also note real disparities between them.

With 46 new companies joining these rankings, certain fields such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and energy are beginning to gain traction, even if other fields are not eclipsed.

We can notably find there Brevo, formerly known as Sendinblue, which positions itself as one of the most efficient emailing tools on the market.

In a completely different field, GoJob is a company that specializes in temporary staffing, equipping itself with very powerful algorithms that have already allowed it to allocate several hundred thousand missions.

Other platforms, such as ZePlug, are geared towards electric cars. In this case, this company aims to facilitate the installation of charging stations within communities. To this end, the company relies on strategic partnerships with property managers and social landlords.

Alice & Bob, for its part, wants to advance research through the design of quantum processors. While the uses are still very abstract at this stage, this could represent a considerable step forward in the field.

Profitability already achieved for some companies

While the Next40 / FrenchTech 120 ranking is often an important accelerator for the economic development of these companies, we also know that some of them will not be able to convert the test.

However, this ranking has the advantage of presenting companies already profitable for 44% of them, compared to only 30% last year, without taking into account "deep tech" which could distort this data.
