Could Red Dead Redemption 2 return before GTA 6? It's quite possible, according to all the rumors. If these are to be believed, Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive could offer a remastered version of this memorable ride on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. For now, there are no technical details, but we can expect at least 4K at 60fps, probably with ray-tracing compatibility for even more beautiful sunsets, among other things.
Red Dead Redemption 2 announcement for this week?
Will Rockstar Games soon make Red Dead Redemption 2 Remastered official? That's what various sources agree on. Just last week, leaker Nate The Hate confirmed the existence of the project, even giving a release window. "These rumors are true. Red Dead Redemption 2 is getting a next-gen update and the game will be coming to Nintendo Switch 2 later this year. [...] From what I've been told, it should be a few months after the Nintendo Switch 2 launches. So maybe late summer or early fall." While he's only mentioning the Switch 2 here, the rumor does indeed point to a next-gen update that would also be available on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
So is a big Red Dead Redemption 2 announcement imminent? According to Rob Wiethoff, the actor who plays John Marston in both games, implied that there would be something huge in the coming days. "I have some big news. I can't tell you yet, and it's driving me crazy. [...] Definitely before Friday... My god, the news I have to share, and I won't be the only one, I'm so excited for you to know what's going on. It's all I can think about right now and I really can't think about anything else, especially while playing this game... I want to tell you so badly." For context, Rob Wiethoff made this statement while streaming Red Dead Redemption Remastered. Comments which could corroborate the rumors around the return of RDR2 on current consoles.
