Samsung's new foldable smartphone is revealed in a teaser; it will be even thinner and lighter.

Rumors are intensifying around Samsung's next line of foldable smartphones. At the end of May, industrial schematics leaked online, revealing the exact dimensions of the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7. These documents indicated a device that would be thinner than ever, measuring only 9 mm thick when folded. Reduced bezels and a larger format already hinted at a shift towards a sleeker design, closer to a classic smartphone. Today, Samsung has released a new teaser that confirms some of this information. Without explicitly mentioning the model name, the South Korean brand talks about a device that is “thinner, lighter, and more advanced than ever.” The very short video clearly evokes the Galaxy Z Fold7. It adopts the same tone as the previous video of the Ultra folding model, revealing only its contours. This time, emphasizing the “durable” aspect and the quality of the materials.

The Galaxy Z Fold7 will be Samsung’s thinnest and lightest foldable smartphone

According to the terms used in the brand’s official press release, the Galaxy Z Fold7 would mark a turning point. Samsung describes it as a new era in the Galaxy Z series, with particular attention paid to portability. The manufacturer seems to want to meet the expectations of users who want a foldable smartphone that is as convenient to carry as it is to use. No specific figures have been confirmed, but the previous leak already mentioned 9 mm folded and 4.54 mm open, which are similar to the OPPO Find N5.

The teaser also highlights a reinforced construction, without detailing the materials used. Samsung claims to have designed a device that is “made to last,” while being the thinnest in its class. The official launch of the Galaxy Z Fold7 is expected for mid-July, at a Galaxy Unpacked event. It is expected to be presented alongside the Galaxy Z Flip7, which would retain a design very similar to its predecessor.
