Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse – where are we now?

Initially, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse was scheduled to be released in theaters in March 2024, one year after Across the Spider-Verse. Unfortunately, the animated film produced by Sony has been delayed. Currently, the film by Justin Thompson and Bob Persichetti is set for June 2, 2027 (and yes, we'll still have to be patient).

Across the Spider-Verse ended on a particularly exciting cliffhanger. Miles Morales is unable to return to his own reality, and lands in a world where his variant is working with Aaron Davis, his uncle, who is the owner of the Prowler's costume. Miles will therefore have to face a demonic version of himself.

A third Miles Morales

During a recent interview, Shameik Moore, who voices Miles Morales in the Spider-Verse license, revealed that Beyond the Spider-Verse will feature a third variant of Miles. While Shameik Moore voices Miles Morales, the variant presented at the end of Across the Spider-Verse is played by actor Jharrel Jerome. Which implies that this third variant of Miles will be dubbed by a third actor. Hopefully, Nadji Jeter will reprise his role as Miles, whom he voices in the Spider-Man video game series developed by Insomniac. After all, Yuri Lowenthal, who voices Peter Parker in this line of video games, had a cameo in Across the Spider-Verse.

As a reminder, Beyond the Spider-Verse will begin with Miles Morales as a fugitive, pursued by the other Spider-Heroes of Spider-Verse. He'll have to find his voice, face a darker version of himself, escape the Spider-Heroes, and maybe even return to his own reality. So, we'll see you in 2027 to see the next adventures of Miles Morales.
