There are tons of creatures in the Star Wars universe. Dangerous, cute, disturbing, and repulsive creatures. This is also the strength of this universe: its iconic bestiary, which becomes more innovative every year. Here, we decided to take a look back at 15 particularly repulsive creatures from the Star Wars universe.
15) Wampa
The Wampa is not exactly pleasant. Native to the planet Hoth, the Wampa is obviously comparable to a Yeti. Large, with white fur and creepy teeth, the Wampa is a carnivorous predator that hunts in the icy plains of Hoth. But his encounter with Luke Skywalker in The Empire Strikes Back is not going to turn out in his favor...
14) Zillo Beast
Appearing in The Clone Wars, this immense creature somewhere between Godzilla and a giant worm is native to Malastare. Virtually extinct, this creature is awakened by an explosion of an electro-proton bomb. Rather than kill her, Palpatine decides to capture her and bring her back to Coruscent to study her particularly durable and virtually impenetrable skin.
13) Brainworm
Also introduced in The Clone Wars, the brainworm can take over the brain of its host. These parasites originate from the planet Geonosis. They were once used by Queen Karina the Great during the Clone Wars. Brainworms even have the ability to reanimate the dead by restoring limited functionality to the deceased brain. While they hate the cold, these particularly disgusting little creatures must have been influenced by the Facehugger from Alien
12) Bor Gullet
Introduced in Rogue One, Bor Gullet is a Mairan who has the ability to read the minds of his victims. Held captive by Saw Gerrera on Jedha, Bor Gullet appears in Gareth Edwards's film to read the thoughts of pilot Bodhi Rook. Animated by about fifteen puppeteers, he's a sort of big, tentacled, and slightly creepy gelatinous blob. Aesthetically, it is a repulsive but nevertheless fascinating creature.
11) The Geonosians
These Geonosians are really ugly. Mainly present in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones, these giant grasshoppers were the witnesses and victims of the first confrontation between the Galactic Republic and the Separatists on Geonosis. They were practically exterminated by the Galactic Empire.
10) The Exogorth
The Exogorth is the giant albino worm that hides in asteroids. Featured in The Empire Strikes Back, the Exogorth swallows the Millennium Falcon whole. Initially safe, trying to flee from the Empire's ships, the crew of the Millennium Falcon eventually realizes they are inside a giant worm. Measuring up to 1km, the Exogorth is made of silicon, has a pseudo-skeleton, and has teeth made of rock. They are able to live without oxygen, can withstand intense cold and the high pressure of space. Exogorth regularly change asteroids depending on their size, but spend most of their time hidden in caverns.
9) The Sarlacc
Introduced in Return of the Jedi, the Sarlacc lives in a huge hole somewhere in the middle of the Tatooine desert. Possessing immense, sharp teeth and meter-long tentacles, it digests its victims for almost 1,000 years. Anyone who falls into the Sarlacc is doomed to a slow and painful death. Ask Boba Fett and he'll tell you all about it. A sort of Sand Kraken, its appearance resembles a living intestinal system. Tasty.
8) Dianoga
The Dianoga has only shown the tiple part of its appearance. It's in A New Hope that our heroes meet Dianoga, when they fall into the garbage compactor. While we only see its long neck and huge eye, Dianoga is much larger. Native to Vodran, the Dianoga only lives in environments populated by garbage. It particularly enjoys civilized planets like Coruscent. It can reach a size of 10 meters and a weight of 95 kilos. And unlike what we see in A New Hope, Dianoga also has immense tentacles.
7) The Blurrg
Very present in the Star Wars universe, the Blurrg are four-legged, but bipedal, reptiles that are particularly ugly. Easily domesticable, they regularly serve as mounts for our heroes, notably in The Mandalorian. They can run at a relatively high speed and have a large mouth full of sharp teeth. They are known for being rather docile and calm.
6) Salacious B Crumb
Remember Jabba the Hutt's little pet? This kind of belligerent and particularly ugly little mouse? Well, his name is Salacious B Crumb. At first, he lives clandestinely on the Kwenn space station. He finds himself in Jabba's lunch tray. The large galactic slug takes a liking to the small animal and decides to make him his jester. Salacious B Crumb becomes Jabba's protégé. In exchange, he must make an effort to make his tyrant laugh at least once a day.
5) The Mynocks
We return to the asteroids of the Star Wars universe to meet the Mynocks. These species of space bats live in the shadow of asteroids and sometimes end up in the stomachs of the Exogorth. Reaching 2 meters long, they feed on non-organic matter, which explains their longevity in inhospitable environments.
4) Rathtar
A quick look at the postlogy with the Rathtar. A particularly aggressive creature, the Rathtar has numerous tentacles and particularly sharp teeth. They are used to hunting in packs and have the ability to communicate with each other. They can measure up to 6 meters and weigh more than 600 kg. They were often hunted on the planet Twon Ketee, notably by Darth Maul.
3) Moof Milker
Remember those big space walruses on Luke's planet in Star Wars 8? They're called Moof Milker. Calm and docile, they allow Luke to regularly feed on their milk, which is particularly delicious. But frankly, they're still pretty ugly.
2) The Rancor
An iconic creature from the Star Wars universe, the Rancor delighted fans in Return of the Jedi. Jabba's killing machine, it is held prisoner by this iconic gang leader from Tatooine. Jabba uses the Rancor to assassinate his enemies and political opponents. He can also be found in The Book of Boba Fett.
1) Jabba the Hutt
And how can we not end this article with the delicious Jabba. A big slobbering slug, no manners, no politeness, it's hard to be more repulsive than the famous Jabba. A cult character, he's above all a big, lazy, and self-important pervert who keeps Han Solo and Leia Organa prisoner, before Luke's intervention.
