It's Thursday and it's time to head to the Epic Games Store. The famous online platform has made a habit of offering one or more free games every Thursday without exception. Today is no exception, with no fewer than two games being given away at 5 p.m. sharp, as usual. But while we usually know what's coming, this time it's a total surprise.
Mystery Games Continue on the Epic Games Store
For several weeks now, the Epic Games Store has been playing with its users and building up the tension until the very last moments by hiding the identity of the free games it's offering. Mystery games are only revealed at the last minute. Last week, the excellent indie game Limbo and the excellent shooter Tiny Tina's Wonderlands were given away.
Two highly regarded titles, although drastically different. So far, the Epic Games Store hasn't been stingy with its mystery games, as in addition to Limbo and Tiny Tina's Wonderland, we've also had titles like Sifu, Deliver at all cost on the same day as its release, and the very good Dead Island 2. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end, and after the next batch, the Epic Games Store will return to its good old habit of revealing its free games in advance. So all eyes are on this week's mystery games now.
Two new free games available at the end of the day, but which ones?
At the time of writing, we don't yet know which games will be offered at the end of the day. The Epic Games Store is keeping the mystery to the end and no leak has yet come to spoil the surprise. However, that doesn't stop players from theorizing. Some are already hoping for the return of already offered games that they missed, like Watch Dogs 2 or Control and Death Stranding, while others are crossing their fingers for XXL titles like Hogwarts Legacy or Red Dead Redemption 2. It's difficult to know what will happen at the moment since the EGS is also capable of offering us huge blockbusters, as well as independent games and even UFOs. See you tonight at 5 p.m. sharp for the verdict.
