During its State of Play, Sony unveiled several video games. These three stand out from the rest, and that's a good thing, they each have a video showing gameplay. Here they are.
It's an annual event that many look forward to. Since 2019, Sony has held its State of Play, a conference that mainly consists of presenting upcoming video games. Like Nintendo Direct, in short.
The most recent one was held on June 4, 2025, and it caught our attention at several points. We've selected three titles that promise great things, although of course we'll have to wait to play them with a controller to confirm this. The good news is that everyone is entitled to a video demonstration of gameplay phases.
Sony unveils 3 games that we can't wait to try, discover their gameplay in video
Here are the titles that impressed us the most during Sony's Play State. We start with a game that finally reveals its release date.
Silent Hill f
We already saw the particular horror atmosphere of Silent Hill f in its first trailer last March. The new installment of the horror series doesn't take place in the fictional town that gives the game its name, but in the Japanese village of Ebisugaoka in the 1960s.
We play as Hinako Shimizu, a teenager repeatedly accused by a ghostly voice of “betrayal.” The video above focuses on the combat phases. No gun, but a simple metal pipe with which the young girl hits some terrifying disjointed puppets and scarecrows. We also see Hinako holding a naginata (a kind of curved-bladed spear) before what appears to be a boss fight.
The plot remains a mystery. But luckily we won't have to wait long to find out: Silent Hill f is coming out on September 25, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
007 First Light
The world's most famous secret agent is back, but not in the forty-something dandy guise we've grown accustomed to. In 007 First Light, James Bond is young. He's just been recruited into MI6, the UK's spy agency. However, we can see that he hasn't waited to get older to display his unfailing self-confidence. Notable fact: his face is marked by a long scar on his right cheek, which is unusual.
The story will be 100% original since it is not based on any film or novel. While the video is mainly made up of cutscenes, we can still see some gameplay. James Bond can be controlled in 3rd person and will use several gadgets. Even if he is a spy on paper, remaining discreet will clearly not be mandatory. 007 does not hesitate to cause large explosions to get rid of his opponents.
007 First Light will be released in the year 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2 and PC. If you create an account now with IO Interactive, the studio in charge of development, you will receive special items for free upon release. In this case, an outfit for James Bond and a golden skin for a pistol. Go to this site to register.
Pragmata
Let's end with a little video game conundrum. Pragmata is a “new” license from Capcom. The reason we put quotation marks is because the game was originally supposed to be released in 2020, then in 2022, and finally in 2023, before completely disappearing from the radar.
But the project hasn't been abandoned. The game takes place on the Moon in a dystopian future where machines don't want us well. On a seemingly abandoned research station, our character Hugh meets an android he quickly nicknames Diana. With her help, we'll have to fight our way through the station, battling hostile robots, and find a way back to Earth.
Pragmata is played in third-person. While you primarily control Hugh, Diana also has a role to play by disrupting electronic systems, for example. You can see this in the video above against an enemy. A boss also makes a stealthy appearance. As it stands, the title is reminiscent of The Callisto Protocol, but with monsters replaced by machines.
Pragmata will be released in 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. “For real,” Capcom jokes at the end of the video.
