Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

Released in 2019, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker concludes the postlogy initiated by J.J. Abramsin 2015 with The Force Awakens. A ninth installment that was poorly received by fans and completely destroyed by press critics. Directed by J.J. Abrams, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker had the difficult task of picking up the pieces of a shaky trilogy. Indeed, with The Last Jedi, Rian Johnson completely deconstructs the elements put in place by J.J. Abrams with The Force Awakens. J.J. Abrams, who took over the direction of the ninth installment, found himself with a plot that went in all directions, and with a conclusion that was practically impossible to resolve.

This did not prevent this ninth installment from bringing in more than 1 billion dollars in box office revenue. Recently, the comic book Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Adaptation reworked an important sequence from J.J. Abrams' film, to give it an even stronger identity.

A Totally Improved Sequence

In the final act of the film, Rey tracks down Palpatine. Aided by her friends in the New Republic, Rey joins forces with Kylo Ren to once again defeat Darth Sidious. Rey then travels to Exegol to confront Emperor Palpatine. In a key sequence, she receives help from former Jedi who fell in battle. In this emotional scene, fans can hear the voices of their favorite Jedi like Mace Windu, Yoda, Luke, Obi-Wan, and even Anakin.

Later, Lucasfilm confirmed that the voices Rey hears come from the Force ghosts of missing, deceased, Jedi. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Adaptation decided to take this sequence and improve it by directly featuring the Force ghosts of these famous Jedi. Since comics enjoy greater artistic and financial freedom, readers can be satisfied with the physical presence of the many aforementioned Jedi.

It would have been a real pleasure to see Samuel L. Jackson, Mark Hamill, Hayden Christensen, or even Liam Neeson reprise their respective roles. But due to obvious logistical and budgetary problems, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker viewers were satisfied with the different voices. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Adaptation has just rectified the situation!
