Even Elon Musk didn't dare do it despite the numerous rumors surrounding a Tesla Phone. After $TRUMP, the cryptocurrency bearing his image, Donald Trump is launching two new products bearing his name: a smartphone called the T1 Phone and a phone plan called T1 Mobile.
The smartphone, as expected, is covered in a gold finish. On the official website of Trump Mobile, the company co-directed by Trump's son, a single visual of the smartphone has been published. It looks like a vulgar montage. The camera unit, in particular, appears to be nothing more than a strange collage. The absence of a flash is another clue to the product's true maturity. One might also question the actual presence of prints depicting a giant T accompanied by a 1 and an American flag.
An incomplete technical sheet
The technical sheet is extremely vague. It even contains its share of errors, such as a camera with a "5000mAh long-life camera [sic]." It will be a smartphone running Android 15, released in August or September 2025 (it seems extremely close) for the trifle of 499 euros.
The company claims that the T1 Phone is "proudly designed and manufactured in the United States," which we can also doubt. No doubt it is simply a matter of assembly in the United States. This is probably a snub to Tim Cook, the boss of Apple, whom Trump has been enjoying torturing in recent weeks, trying to twist his arm so that the iPhone is "made" in the United States.
A mobile plan in the form of a joke
The story doesn't end there. In addition to his phone with a questionable design, the 47th and 45th president of the United States has released a mobile plan priced at $47.45 per month called the 47 Plan. For this price, the Trump Mobile plan offers 20GB of data, unlimited calls and texts, and nearly a hundred destinations.
Like the visuals that accompany the offer, we no longer really know where the joke begins and ends. One thing is certain: Donald Trump and his close associates have decided to capitalize as much as possible on their notoriety and the visibility that comes with being president.
