Xbox Showcase: One of the announcements has reportedly leaked, and many were waiting for it

Now that PlayStation's State of Play is over, the spotlight is naturally on Summer Game Fest, which is scheduled to air tonight at 11 p.m. And while Geoff Keighley has already revealed some of the games that will be there, rumors are, as always, rife regarding the surprise announcements we can expect. The same goes for the Xbox Showcase that will follow this Sunday, and one of the announcements seems to have already leaked.

The Persona 4 remake soon to be announced?

Indeed, if we are to believe the information shared by our colleagues at MP1st, Atlus should be part of it with the announcement of a new remake... of Persona 4. "A source close to the situation confirmed to MP1st today that Persona 4 Remake will be unveiled during the Xbox Showcase on June 8th" states the media in its columns. It would then be a question of a release on PS5, Xbox Series and PC. On the other hand, MP1st is currently unable to say whether a Nintendo Switch 2 version is also planned.

Similarly, MP1st has not yet managed to obtain any information regarding the surprises that this Persona 4 remake could hold. Nevertheless, it is a safe bet that we are dealing with something similar to Persona 3 Reload, which was also revealed during an Xbox Showcase in 2023. In other words, we can probably expect a graphics overhaul, obviously, but also potentially gameplay adjustments and some small new features in the game's story.

The date is set for the Xbox Showcase

Of course, needless to say, this is not yet official, and all this information should therefore be taken with a grain of salt. However, let's not kid ourselves, the existence of Persona 4 Remake has now become a real open secret for Atlus. Recently, many actors from the original game have confirmed its existence by revealing that they have not been contacted again to reprise their roles in the project. Suffice to say, this leaves little room for doubt as to the game's presence at the Xbox Showcase this weekend.
