Thinkbook Flip AI PC: Lenovo will unveil a revolutionary laptop PC

The ThinkBook Flip AI PC has not yet been announced, but it is likely to make some noise in the coming weeks. This folding screen laptop will be presented very soon, if we are to believe the leaker Evan Blass. Known for his many proven leaks, he assures (private X account) that Lenovo will continue its exploration of original formats. This funny laptop will make an appearance in a few days in Barcelona, during the Mobile World Congress (March 3 to 6).

There are already folding smartphones, why not laptops?

According to the renders and as its name suggests, the ThinkBook Flip folds like Samsung's most popular folding smartphone: the Galaxy Flip. This design allows it to take on the appearance of a classic laptop when folded. It offers a classic screen on one side and a tablet on the other, or to have a screen available to show content to colleagues, clients or friends:

Once unfolded, it offers a very large vertical display that will make some professionals salivate. Many jobs, such as developers, can use a lot of vertical space for long sessions and comfort.

The renderings suggest there are no visible creases in the panel, but the final product is likely to have a visible crease. As with smartphones, it is possible that it will not disturb the user positioned in front of the laptop.

Unfortunately, we do not yet know the characteristics of the ThinkBook Flip. Lenovo's laptop does not seem to have very rich connectivity and its format suggests the presence of an Arrow Lake-H or Lunar Lake chip in Intel configuration. In the event of an AMD variant, we can expect a Ryzen “Strix Point” processor, but this remains to be confirmed at MWC 2025.

Transparent, foldable, drop-down screen… Lenovo imagines the future of the laptop

With this announcement, Lenovo would confirm its desire to revolutionize the world of laptops. The manufacturer is multiplying its attempts and has already presented a transparent laptop last year:

Earlier this year, the brand unveiled the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable. A laptop with a roll-up screen, with a display surface comparable to that of the ThinkBook Flip, which Lenovo plans to market later this year. Each time, the firm surprises by going beyond the wow effect to make its futuristic machines useful, but the time is still for demonstration rather than democratization. These laptops are far from being accessible and the ThinkBook with a drop-down screen will cost at least $3,499 when it is released. In Europe, it would target professionals with an entry ticket of 2,799 euros excluding taxes.

Also according to Evan Blass, Lenovo is also preparing new machines for MWC 2025. The leaker again mentions the two-in-one IdeaPad, the IdeaPad Pro 5 and IdeaPad Slim 5, or an AI Display screen. This smart monitor aims to improve users' well-being by alerting them to their posture, fatigue and other potential problems.
