Users of Samsung smartphones other than the Galaxy S25 are mostly wondering when the One UI 7 update will be deployed on their model. For its part, the Korean company prefers to highlight the new features that this version of the interface brings to the Galaxy Buds 3 with an S25.
The announcement can be summed up in a few words: One UI 7 extends direct control of the Galaxy Buds 3 to the system. The Galaxy Wearable application will therefore no longer be a necessary step to adjust certain settings.
Direct control via the quick access panel
In its press release, Samsung explains: "Thanks to One UI 7, it is no longer necessary to go to the Galaxy Wearable application to adjust the settings of your earphones. For the first time, it is possible to change the volume, noise reduction level and sound settings directly from the quick access panel of your device.
In practice, owners of Galaxy Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro can make various adjustments, such as sound profiles or active noise reduction, directly via the quick settings panel.
The company has detailed how to do this (illustration image). When the Galaxy Buds are connected, simply long-press the volume slider in the quick access panel to access advanced audio controls.
In addition, the feature allows you to configure sound settings per application. As the press release points out, sound preferences vary depending on the situation: while amplified bass is popular for listening to certain types of music, this overbidding is less suitable for watching a film, for example.
Sound settings per application avoid systematically readjusting preferences. Just set them for an app once via the quick settings panel and the Galaxy Buds 3 will automatically apply them afterwards.
Again, everything goes through the quick access panel. Adjusting the settings is done by tapping the Buds icon or by holding the Volume slider above the media panel. The rules will then only apply to the application currently being played.
Spotlight on two features
In addition to these shortcuts, Samsung highlights two features of One UI 7 in its article: Adapt sound and Interpreter.
Adapt sound “enables you to enjoy clearer and more precise sound during a call or when watching a video”. Ideally, the user is invited to take an advanced hearing test to create their profile. Otherwise, he can directly choose from three predefined profiles (based on age).
Interpreter, is, as its name suggests, a translation tool. In Listening mode, speech in one of the twenty supported foreign languages is translated in real time through the Galaxy Buds (but by the Galaxy smartphone).
No word on when non-Galaxy S25 owners will be able to experience all of the above.
